PDF Safe is built on a zero-server architecture. Privacy isn't a setting you toggle on — it's how the system works at a technical level. Your files can't reach our servers because there simply aren't any servers involved in processing.
1. How PDF Safe Handles Your Files
PDF Safe uses browser-based Web Workers to process your documents. All file operations run inside your browser's memory. We never own, access, or store your files at any point. Your data never touches our infrastructure.
2. What We Collect
We don't collect personal information. We have no mechanism to view or retain the contents of any file you process. Our service is serverless by design, not just by policy.
3. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns — like which pages are visited and what devices are used. No file contents are ever sent to Google Analytics.
4. Advertising
PDF Safe is currently ad-free. We may introduce advertising in the future. If we do, this policy will be updated before any ads are shown.
5. Your Local Environment
Our architecture is designed so your files never leave your browser. The security of your local environment — your device, browser version, and network — is in your hands. We recommend keeping your browser up to date.
6. Cookies
We keep it simple. Here's what we store in your browser: • A cookie to remember your language for 1 year. • Your yes/no choice about cookies, so the pop-up doesn't keep showing up. • A couple of flags so we don't ask you the same thing twice (like installing the app). If you say yes to analytics, Google puts its own cookies in your browser to count roughly how many people visit which pages. Your files never go near Google. That's it. No ads, no trackers, no third-party stuff.
7. How Long We Keep Data
Short answer: we don't keep your files at all. Everything runs in your browser. Close the tab, it's gone. We don't have servers to store anything. The only exception is Google Analytics, which keeps anonymous stats for 14 months. And your language cookie stays for 1 year, or until you clear your cookies.
8. Your Rights
We don't collect personal data — no accounts, no sign-ups, nothing stored on our end. So there isn't much to manage on your end. If you consented to analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data. This data goes directly to Google — we don't see it, we don't store it. You can manage or delete it from your Google account.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we change this, we'll update the date at the top. If it's a big change — like adding ads or new analytics — we'll let you know on the site before it happens.
